They are freshly cut to order; the shipper wraps the bottoms in wet paper towels to retain moisture and packages them for safe shipping.

Longevity Spinach is a resilient plant, adapting effortlessly to a range of conditions. It roots quickly, usually within a few weeks, and from there it will grow rapidly, providing a bountiful harvest within 6 months. It thrives in zones 8-11 with frost protection and can be grown as an annual or in greenhouses in Zones 4+. It flourishes in sun, part shade, and shade, with leaf color varying based on the amount of shade or sun it receives. It prefers moist soil (not saturated) and, once established, is rather drought tolerant. It tends to grow to a height of 8-12 inches and does not self-seed, so its spread is easily maintained by harvesting the greens to eat.
